Oren triumphs as Ramfis in Pittsburgh Opera’s Aida

In a return to Pittsburgh Opera and celebration of Verdi’s bicentennial, American bass Oren Gradus has earned accolades for his performance of high priest Ramfis in Aida. “Oren Gradus sang very well as Ramfis, the high priest, offering strength and dignity,” wrote the Pittsburgh Tribune

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette added that Oren “showed off full-bodied vocals, particularly during strong off-stage singing in the judgment scene.” Conducted by Anthony Walker and costarring Latonia Moore, Carl Tanner, and Elizabeth Bishop, Aida runs through October 20.
